4. Recently on October 1st Nationwide Action Research Project of Gram Panchayat development scheme inaugurated by the Minister of Rural Development Narendra Singh Tomar.

The scheme has been launched from Gwalior Madhya Pradesh.

This function is being organized jointly by the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad, District Administration and District Panchayat.

The main of this initiative is to to promote Compressed Biogas (CBG) as an alternative fuel.

6. Recently Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the state’s own food security scheme

The main aim of this scheme is Odisha  to cover the poor people whose “left out” from the National Food Security Act (NFSA) 2013.

Hey Agri update readers here I’m going to discuss with you about Operation Green

Which was launched by Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) with allocation of 500 carore to stabilise supply of Tomato, Onion and Potato (TOP) crops. It is aimed at ensuring availability of TOP tomatoes, onions and potatoes crops throughout the country round the year without price volatility or fluctuations in the prices of tomatoes, onions and potatoes (TOP) and for given farmers right price of their produce.

Under this scheme Ministry of Food Processing Industries will provide 50% of subsidy to components of transportation of TOP Crops from production to storage and hiring of appropriate storage facilities for TOP tomatoes, onions and potatoes Crops.

Operation green aims to promote
Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO),Procesing facilities
And Professional management.

Operation green is associated with improving or doubling the farmers income by 2022.

Things that are needed be remembered related operation green for our exams.

Operation green announced by Union Government in Budget 2018-19 .

1. Arunachal Pradesh govt launches Chief Minister’s Sashakt Kisan Yojana and Chief Minister’s Krishi Samuh Yojana in,Arunachal Pradesh .

The Chief Minister’s Sashakt Kisan Yojana included  three state flagship programmes, namely – CM’s Employment Generation Scheme, CM’s Agri-Mechanization Programme and CM’s Flagship Programme on Tea and Rubber.

3. ‘Soura Jalanidhi’ a Agriculture scheme recently launched by Naveen Patnaik, the Chief Minister of Odisha .

Purpose of the scheme : to increase use of solar energy and helping farmers in their irrigation.

Things to be Remember related this scheme :

Under the scheme solar pumps will be provided to farmers at a subsidy of 90 per cent.
Farmers applicable for this scheme belonging to small and marginal categories having minimum 0.5 acres of cultivable land.

4.The International Conference on Organic Farming and Our Future Food System took place on Friday 12 October 2018.

5.Agricultural scientist Prof. M.S. Swaminathan will be honored with the ICFA’s first-ever World Agriculture Prize.

1. Recently in month of October UN Food & Agriculture Organisation awards Sikkim for becoming world’s first totally organic agriculture state.

Sikkim won this Award by beating 25 countries

And one thing also important is that Brazil, Denmark and Equador won Silver

2.India’s first 2G Ethanol Bio-Refinery will be going to set up in Odisha where ethanol will be produced from rice straw.

3.Recently The 11th edition of Global Agriculture Leadership Summit 2018 started in New Delhi from October 24 ( 2 Days Summit )

Things to be Remember About This Summit :

Theme of this Summit : “Connecting Farmers to Market”

Agriculture leadership award given every year in this Summit and this Agriculture Leadership Awards were instituted in 2008.

And one of the most important thing is that The awards jury was chaired by pioneer of India’s Green Revolution MS Swaminathan.
